From October 30 to November 1 will be performing the LatinoWare 2008 event at Itaupú Technology Park in Brazil where the V Latin American Free Software Conference will take place.
The event is expected for more than 2 million people, including students, professionals and specialists. And among the aspects that have caught our attention is that the GIS area is one of the topics considered promising for this year.
It is in this line where gvSIG will be presented through a lecture presentation and a workshop that aims to raise awareness and train staff involved in land management with free tools. As far as it is known, gvSIG is a tool in constant expansion in Brazil, being used by various administrations and universities.
It is expected the participation of at least Victoria Agazzi, current coordinator of gvSIG project and André Sperb, Member of the OSGEO.
Latinoware will serve as the first meeting point of organizations and people interested in the Brazilian chapter of OSGEO, celebrating a first meeting that serves as an initial step in the formation of the Brazilian community in the framework of the event.
Also at this event will be performed the national meeting of MapServer’s users.
