GaliciaCAD is a site that gathers a lot of useful material for engineering, surveying and architecture. Most existing resources are free, but some require to be registered with an annual membership of 20 Euros which includes a CD with 8,000 blocks. If case of being for partners, it always provides the link to download the tool from an external link.
In this post it is summarized, by way of example, a collection of tools available to topography (13)
Site Topo | To make digital terrain models |
Terragen | To render photorealistic scenes |
Grid2CAD | Converts type grid terrain models to dwg file |
DXFacil | Creates dxf files from txt and vice versa, also makes other pirouettes |
AcuerdosVert | Excel template to create vertical agreements |
TopoUtil | Application for making redefines |
GeoProfiles | For the generation of profiling altimetry from a txt file, choosing the scale factor horizontal or vertical |

There are mentioned some we’ve already reviewed on this blog, as HeyWhatsThat, NASA World Wind, Virtual Earth |
Some routines have the disadvantage that they are for older versions of AutoCAD, but it is worth a try to keep an eye (Spanish Idiom: “no está demás echarle un ojo” means that it won’t be a waste of time if you take a look on it)
There are also tools for other purposes, such as:
- AutoCAD (29)
- Calculation in Engineering (54)
- Design (15)
- Electricity (1)
- 3D Utilities (29)
- Various Utilities (15)
Additionally, GaliciaCAD has other type of resources, like:
Finally, I recommend this site to have it among your favorites, with the exception of some broken links or a Forum crowded of spam, it’s worth a try to sniff out its content. You can even subscribe to receive news by mail or purchase membership with all the benefits included.
