A while ago we showed an archaic form of how was it possible to connect to OGC services using MicroStation; I remember Keith told me that the next version would have these capabilities.
Connect
To access, it’s always made using raster manager that now, additional to adding a raster file and imaging service it is displayed web map service (WMS). For this it is not necessary Bentley Map, already included in MicroStation, once again, it should be V8i or as it is called v8.11.
Cargar capa
Last time I explained how to operate images’ services so now we will only see how to load the wms.
When you select the option, appears a panel which elects the url of the service, so any data service published with OGC standards via wms can be consulted.
In this case, see that’s even possible to connect to the services published by Manifold GIS via wms, which in this case can access via localhost.
Once you choose the service, the system queries which layers you want to order, style and opacity settings. To the right there is a general settings panel which includes the projection, in which the layer is, format picture, transparency, range, among others. There is also a tab to preview, which is very handy.
Save layer
Then the file can be saved with xwms extension and is later callable.
A little late but finally reached this to MicroStation; we saw this same functionality before done by Manifold, GvSIG, and Google Earth.
WFS?
I don’t think so.
